where's perry?

So the kids got their first round of eye drops.  It should go without saying that it did not go well.  Three kids, age 7 mo, 3 years and 5 years, need to get two drops of medicine in each eye (four times a day!).  Seriously?  Today their mom came home after filling the script but all I can think about is how awful tomorrow is going to be when I have to do it again, alone. In hopes of having a decent afternoon, I let them watch some Phineas & Ferb.  I let A pick one episode and then let J pick the next one.  J picked "Quantum Boogaloo" (which we all thought sounded so funny).  Then A told me that me that he "hasn't seen this Phineas & Ferb in a humdred years"  (and yes, he said humdred and not hundred, it's not a typo).

And FYI Phineas & Ferb is a really funny cartoon on the Disney Ch.  So if you ever find yourself babysitting and you need watch some Disney, I highly recommend it.

oh, there you are...watcha doooing?

awesome...

...that should be read in a sarcastic tone.

Today we went to the doctors and it was confirmed (much to my dismay) that all three of my Lovelies need to be treated for conjunctivitis.  Baby girl and J have it and they are just treating A because let's face it, these kids aren't that great at keeping their germs to themselves.  And for those of you who are clueless right now they have the wonderfully contagious, even if you have an amazing immune system, pink eye. This begs the questions: are my eyes itchy because I have allergies?  Are they itchy because my contacts are a tad ( i.e. really) old?  Am I just having a psycho-somatic reaction (probably)?? Or do I have pink eye??!!!

Just in time for a long weekend...thanks kiddos :)

how was your weekend

i asked J if he did anything fun this weekend.  I know that they went to a birthday party and to the Little Gym.

Me:  How was your weekend?  Did you do anything fun?

J: (in a deep voice) nope

Me:  Nope?! You didn't do anything fun at all??

J:  Nope

Me:  No birthday parties?  You didn't go to the Little Gym at all?

J:  No, we wouldn't do anything fun without you!!

I love bacon!!

I found out last month how much A loves bacon. Yesterday we all went out to breakfast and A was upset that I was taking them to a place that "doesn't have bacon!" He couldn't have been more wrong :)

double fistin'!!

my dad is going to be mad at you

Today we are making a yummy dip for fruit so we went to Wegmans to get what we needed and, of course, I got things that we didn't need.  I found some Cinnamon Sugar Ritz (yum!!).  A and I were "testing" them before we made the dip.  I asked A if he thought they were delicious and he said yeah.  I said they were "delicioso" (which is Spanish BTDubs).  He said that they were "delicious-osha"

Then we were making the dip and I got all the stuff out and put it on the table so we could make it.

A:  My dad is going to be so mad at you.....

Me:  at me?  Why?

A:  You got all our stuff out!!

Me:  Well what do you think I'm going to do when we are done?

A:  clean up

Me:  that's right...I don't think your dad is going to be mad at me

Recipe
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup whipped topping

  • In a bowl, combine the yogurt, peanut butter and cinnamon; mix well. Fold in the whipped topping. Refrigerate until serving. Serve with fruit.

I'm going to use apples, bananas, graham crackers and my new Ritz

    my brave protectors

A & J told me that they were the "soldiers".  I, of course, corrected them and told them they were knights.  Then the told me that E & I were the princesses and they "were the guys that cut the dragons"

    boogerboogerbooger part deux

We're still working on the "boogerboogerbooger....." announcement and I am happy to say we are making great progress.  Now I have also taught A to keep a tissue in his pocket for such emergencies.  It's so cute!!

it's like an old man's handkerchief

    Babies R Gross

And I betcha it's not for the reasons that you think!!!

     A)  Meat baby food is the grossest thing EVER!!!!  When I have some rug rats they will totally be vegetarians until they can eat non-pureed meat

    B)  When their soft spot throbs with their heartbeat....ewwww

    dearest friends....

...and you know who you are.  You are the friends that read my blog everyday but refuse to"follow" it. I know read it because you always talk about my posts.  Why won't you just follow my blog in public, for the world to see??  Are you embarrassed??  You shouldn't be.  This is funny stuff.  And I know this because one of you (BC) texted me that you laughed out loud twice in the first 5 minutes of reading it.  Friends don't make me whine.

    really??

Nap time is an awesome thing.  I love that my bosses keep the boys up WAY to late and this makes them tired and need to nap during the day.  If they put J to bed at a "normal" time then he wouldn't need to take a 2-3 hour nap, but they don't so he does.  So most days he naps but when he doesn't he keeps coming out of his room and asking when nap will be over.  These two precious hours are all I have to keep me sane, so I always tell him it's nap time,go to your room and be quiet.  No where in that sentence do I say sleep.  I just want him upstairs and quiet so I can read and watch Netflix.  I'm not asking for too much am I???

So about 20 minutes ago I hear him calling my name and asking "how much longer."  And he gets my standard reply.  I just went upstairs to put his laundry away and tell him he could get up, but he is passed the F out!!!  Clearly I'm not a mean nanny who needs her quiet time, he really does need his sleep.

    choosing my battles

Now that J is five, we (and by we I really mean me and not the parents) have been making him more independent and self-sufficient.  He does not enjoy the fact that I make him do things for himself.  And just so you know, I'm not asking him to cook his own lunch or drive himself to school.  I am asking him to pick out his own clothes and get himself dressed.  That is NOT too much to ask of a five year old. Usually when I get to work, A is in the process of getting dressed...either he is some degree of nakedness or he's dressed. J, on the other hand, is almost always in his PJs laying down on my bosses' bed watching TV. So today I asked him to get dressed

J:  I don't know where mt clothes are. I don't see them.  (sometimes one of my bosses will pick out his clothes for him and put them on the bed)

Me:  I bet they are in your closet

J:  I want someone to get them for me

Me:  Are you kidding me!!!  (jk)  No you go pick them out, you're a big boy now and you can get them yourself

J stalled for awhile and I had to ask him twice more, which he knows will eventually get him in trouble if I have to keep giving directions.

Me:   It's not a school day and it's kinda chilly out so you can pick out whatever you want to wear.

A few minutes later he comes out in a pair of red "comfy" shorts with white stripes down the sides, a long sleeve orange shirt and a pair of Lightning McQueen socks that are forest green with red and checked flag stripes at the top and finished his look with a pair of black Velcros sneakers....

Me:  You look amazing....run and go show mommy!!

I'll post a picture soon so ya'll can see this glorious outfit for yourselves

    runny nose

A has a runny nose and is really stuffed up.  When he feels his nose starting to run he says,"boogerboogerboogerboogerboogerbooger......" from wherever he is to wherever I am.  We've been working on saying booger ONCE and then getting a tissue himself.

    bottle full of water

A:  When I'm big and strong and I'm Superman, I'll be so strong that I can lift up a bottle........a bottle full of water!!!!

    kinda nice

I am in this horrible phase of growing my hair out and its awful! So I've been trying to style my hair differently so I can manage to actually grow it out this time and not just give up and cut it all off...again.  So today I scrunched it up and made it messy/"curly" (and ya'll know I don't actually have curly hair so the fact that my hair can so this amazes me).  So anyhoo....while in the car A says

A: Jessica why didn't you comb your hair today??

Me:  Do you mean why is it all crazy?

A:  Yeah, why didn't you comb it to make it flat?

Me:  I'm wearing it curly today...do I look nice?

    A:  You look kinda nice

And then later we were talking about their play set and how when they "get big" they can still use it.  And then they asked me if I had a play set when I was a kid.

Me:  I had one...but it was not a big one like yours (they have a HUGE play set) mine was little.  It had swings and a slide (which I think we broke off in less than a week) and it had a glider too...

J:   I didn't know that they even had gliders way back then

Now I know J wasn't trying to be a smart ass, but apparently he thinks I'm super old

    windy

A came out of the bathroom with his pants up but unbuttoned.  He walks over to me, lifts his shirt up and says, "button my pants up it's windy outside."  Maybe I'm not up to speed with things, but are the two things related??

    strong

J told me the other day that he was so strong he "could almost break" his "muscles."   Not really sure what that means.  I realized that he is much more funnier when he isn't trying to be.  When he tries, he is just annoying.

Also he has a bit of a jealous streak.  On my cell phone case I have two foamy star stickers that the boys gave me, well at Easter my cousin's son gave me a Rex (from Toy Story) sticker that I put on my phone.  Several times J has asked me who gave me that sticker.  I always answer the same "my friend Owen."  Apparently J was unaware that I am "friends" with other little boys.

    all cleaned up

A and I just finished making pancakes and then he said he wanted to play a game that J got for his birthday.

A:  Let's go play this game

Me:  Well I have to clean up first then we'll go play...so go to the playroom

About fives minutes later-while I've been fooling around online and not cleaning-he comes back into the kitchen and says, "All clean now!"

    Me:  huh?

A:  Everything is all clean now....let's  go play the game

Me:  Oh sweetie...I need to clean up the kitchen, not you need to clean up your toys

That's not so much funny as it is so stinkin' cute

    my magic kisses

During lunch A bit his tongue.

A:  oww! I bit my tongue!

Me:  You bit your tongue?  That's a silly thing to do

    A:  Kiss it

    Me:  Kiss your tongue???

    A:  yeah

    Me:  No that's gross

    yummy lunch

Normally I take A & E out to run errands while J is in school.  It's much easier to get things done with only 2 children instead of 3.  J feels bad that he never gets to do "fun stuff" with us, so today I decide that we'll go after we pick him up.

Me:  We're going to go to Target after we get J.  Now we only need a few things

    A:  What do you need?

Me:  Well we need...blah blah not funny stuff...and then I need to get some candy because I'm going to the movies tonight

A:  Are you going to see Rio?

    Me:  No...

A:  What are you going to see?

    Me:  a movie for adults

A:  Mommy and Daddy saw Rio with us...

Me:  Yeah well I'm not going to see Rio this time

A:  I wish you could see Rio

Me:  Well anyways...I thought that maybe after we get what I need, we could find something yummy to have for lunch at Target

    A:  CANDY??!!!

And in case you were wondering what they got...they both chose bologna Lunchables...yuck....I forgot how gross Lunchables are

    bathroom story

A ran into the bathroom saying he needed to go poopy and that he wanted me to be in the bathroom with him.  So I'm standing in there with him and he REALLY needed to go.  After he does his business, he looks in the potty (I figured he was getting a good look so he could describe it to me--again)

A:  Wow look how big that is!

    Me:

A:  and look some of the poopy wiped off on the toilet!!

And I will say that it was a decent sized poop. . . almost man sized.

    eewwwwwww!

    I feel loved and wanted

First thing this morning. before I even make it through the door, A tried to shut the door on me and told me that he didn't want me here today.  I know that he really means that he wants to parents to stay home but that's a great way to start off the day.  And apparently the couch had magically turned into a pirate ship while I was getting my cereal and when I sat down to eat A told me that I was making the boat too heavy.

Thanks A, I love you too!

    nap

When A woke up from nap today he talked to himself for about a half hour until he decided he was ready to get up.  Then he called me upstairs.  Usually he will repeatedly say my name loudly until I manage to stop whatever it is that I'm doing and make it upstairs.  Today he called only once.  So when I get up there he sits up and says, "Is it morning yet?"...too cute.  I tell him that's not morning but he can get up from nap now.  He tells me "good I need to poop"  So after he goes into the bathroom and does his thing, he tells me he went one poop.  Lately he has been so nice and describing them to me.  Sometimes they are humongous or long and pointy or little turds.  Yes, those are the words he actually uses to describe his poops.  Anyhoo....he tells me that he went one poop but he has more but "wants to save them for another time".

Umm no sir....finish pooping now please
